Maths Tutorials - Higher Level Leaving Certificate 2019/2020

History of the SAI Maths Tutorials Project

In 2013, the Society launched a series of Maths Tutorials covering the Higher Level Leaving Certificate Maths Programme.  An invitation was issued to a small selection of schools to participate in these tutorials.

Since the 2014/2015 academic year, the Society has extended this invitation to more schools in the Dublin area and also launched this initiative in Cork.

We are now inviting Higher Level 6th Year Maths Students to participate in our programme of tutorials for the 2019/20 school year.

The 2020 time-table can be found here - Please note the change of venue to Chartered Accountant's House, 47-49 Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Volunteers for the 2019/2020 Maths Tutorials Project

The Society has now sent all members a 'Call for Volunteers' email for the 2019/2020 Maths Tutorial Project.

Further details are available on our website here or you can email for more information.

Garda Vetting

The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012-2016 which came into effect on 29 April 2016, make it mandatory for people working with children or vulnerable adults to be vetted by the Garda Síochána National Vetting Bureau.

Garda Vetting Process for all Maths Tutorial Volunteers in 2019/20:

  • Please complete the NVB1 form below and send to Simeone Golden at the Society’s office at your earliest convenience, together with copies of your ID (a list of the appropriate forms of ID is also below). Please mark the envelope ‘Private & Confidential’.
  • Please note that you will need to post or deliver by hand the completed NVB 1 form, together with copies of ID, to the Society, as the National Vetting Bureau will not permit forms to be emailed
  • We will then submit these details to the Dublin City Volunteer Centre, who liaise directly with the Garda Vetting Bureau
  • While the Society is obliged to retain your completed NVB 1 form and a copy of your ID, while you are involved in this project, the Society has no further role to play in the vetting process
  • The Dublin City Volunteer Centre will then email you, at the email address provided on your form, to invite you to complete an online e-vetting form
  • The National Vetting Bureau will then process your online application and advise the Society of the outcome
