SAI awards Honorary Fellowship to Prof Pete Lunn

The Society of Actuaries in Ireland announced today that it has elected Professor Pete Lunn, founder and head of the ESRI’s Behavioural Research Unit, as an Honorary Fellow.

Sheelagh Malin, President of the Society, said that Professor Lunn’s research into economic decision-making and how consumers navigate complex financial products provides valuable insights that can help ensure more effective regulation and communication.

Higher risk of death among male Covid-19 cases

The Society has issued a Media Statement following research carried out by the Society's COVID-19 Action Group which shows that there is a higher risk of death among male COVID-19 cases.

Financial & Economic Assumptions - Finance & Investment Committee April 2021

The Terms of Reference of the Finance & Investment Committee state, inter alia, that:

“The Committee shall annually review the base financial & economic assumptions for use by Practice Committees in setting assumptions in ASPs and make recommendations to Council”.
