The Pensions Commission was established by the Government in November 2020 to consider issues around the State Pension which had been included in the Programme for Government, with the objective of reporting to the Minister for Social Protection by 30 June 2021.

The Society has issued responses to the following Central Bank of Ireland Consultation Papers:

A paper prepared by the Pensions Committee, and reviewed by Council, which sets out the Society’s “Initial Views on the Government’s Roadmap for Pensions Reform 2018-2023” is available below.  This has been sent to the Minister for Finance, the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection and the Pensions Regulator.

The Society recently submitted a response to the Central Bank of Ireland Consultation Paper (CP114) on Amendments to the Non-Life Insurance (Provision of Information) (Renewal of Policy of Insurance) Regulations 2007.

The 2017 edition of the OECD’s biennial report Pensions at a Glance has been published.  This sets out the pension reforms undertaken by OECD countries over the last two years; the only reform noted for Ireland is the termination of the pensions levy.
