Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is an exciting field which has grown rapidly in recent years.

This presentation will give an overview of AI, followed by a more detailed look at neural network AI models.  These models can achieve human-level performance in many different fields, such as image and speech recognition, machine translation and self-driving cars.

We will discuss why this field is relevant to actuaries and insurers, and give some examples of areas where actuaries are likely to see AI models being used in the years ahead, such as pricing, fraud detection and predicting customer behaviour.

This presentation is the third presentation on data science from the Data Analytics subcommittee, and is suitable for actuaries of all levels.  No prior knowledge is required.
