Demystifying Data Science - Part II

Data science is the study of how to make data-driven decisions. The field has grown rapidly in recent years and many companies are now hiring data scientists and Chief Data Officers.

In this follow on presentation to the one on 19 September, more sophisticated analytics techniques will be introduced. The focus will be on demystifying data science by explaining key concepts and buzzwords with practical examples being used to illustrate the techniques.

This introductory talk assumes no previous knowledge or experience in the area and is aimed at actuaries of all levels. It is the second in a series of talks presented by the SAI Data Analytics Subcommittee.

The talk will also include a recap of the key points from the previous presentation on 19 September.
