Som Bhattacharya, emerging market debt portfolio manager with JP Morgan Asset Management, presents on the outlook and opportunities in emerging markets.

Biographical details

Soumyanshu (Som) Bhattacharya, executive director, is a client portfolio manager in the Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (GFICC) group. In this role, Som is responsible for client management and new business development in the International Institutional market, focusing on Emerging Market Debt. An employee since 2008, Som previously worked in the Investment Bank covering Valuations & Risk for Flow Credit Trading. Previously, Som worked at Deutsche Bank, Debt Capital Markets and Fidelity Investments in India. He obtained a B.Tech in mechanical engineering from The Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur and an MBA (PGDM) from The Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta. Som holds the Investment Management Certificate from the UK Society of Investment Professionals, the FSA Securities and Financial Derivatives Certificate and is a CFA charterholder.
