Trends in Asset Allocation

The market turmoil of the past decade has made it difficult for investors to meet their objectives.  The basics of asset allocation have been questioned and some have moved towards alternative approaches to help meet their goals.  This session will discuss trends of institutional investors as they challenge traditional concepts and strategies that can help investors achieve their desired outcomes in a difficult market.

Biographical details

Dan is a Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors, and the Chief Investment Officer for SSgA's Investment Solutions Group (ISG). In this role, he is responsible for the management and development of asset allocation strategies for institutional clients worldwide. His responsibilities include the design and management of Liability Driven Investments, tactical asset allocation and overlay strategies. He is a member of SSgA's Executive Management Group. Prior to this role, Dan was the Head of the US Multi Asset Class Solutions (MACS) team.



Dan holds a BSBA from Stonehill College and an MBA from Bentley College, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of CFA Institute and the Boston Securities Analyst Society. Dan has been a frequent speaker on the topics of asset allocation, liability driven investments and investment management for endowments/foundations. Dan also serves on the Board of Directors of the Crispus Attucks Children's Center in Dorchester, MA.
