Current Opportunities

The Recent Qualifiers committee is commencing work on a Current Topics Paper and is pleased to invite you to express an interest in getting involved in researching, writing or presenting the Current Topics Paper to the Society in 2024.  The last Current Topics Paper was presented in 2022 and the presentation and paper are available here.

This is a big project and in order to deliver it well and on time, work needs to commence soon.  We had a very good response from members to participate in the preparation of the 2022 Paper and we are hoping for a similar response this time. 

How will the project work?

• 2 or 3 members will be selected to research, write and present the paper on the current topics for different practice areas including: Life and Healthcare, Pensions and Investment, General Insurance, Wider Fields. If members offer to cover other areas, we can consider extending the list of topics.
• A Project Team will be established to prepare a plan in order to ensure that the Paper will be ready for presenting to members of the Society in 2024. 
• A senior member from each of the practice areas will act as mentor to those involved in developing the Paper.

Who can apply and how will the selection process work?

• Any member who has qualified over the last 3 years is welcome to express interest
• A selection committee, comprising members of the Recent Qualifiers Committee, will select a panel for this project.

Write a paper
Research material with guidance from a senior member, and
Present a paper to members of the Society
