Below we will attempt to answer the most frequent queries of those wishing to access our IMI Membership content:

Does the partnership cost the SAI money?

Yes, the SAI pays a fixed fee for a 12-month membership period. The partnership is reviewed every year. If members are availing of the services at a sufficient level then the SAI will consider renewing the membership for a further 12 months. In order to monitor the usage by members it is important that when a member signs up for any IMI membership benefit that the member lists the SAI as their ‘employer’.

How do I get access to membership benefits?

SAI Fellow members can access: IMI membership events; Webinars; podcasts; white papers; blogs; the Knowledge Centre; and can avail of a discount on IMI facilities via the SAI-IMI Membership partnership.

  • To access the Events:

All upcoming IMI events are listed on the ‘Events’ section of the SAI website. A limited number of complimentary tickets are allocated to Fellow members of the SAI in the order in which their reservations for the relevant event are received. Fellow members may also avail of a 50% discount on ticket prices (subject to availability).  

  • To access the Webinars:

This benefit is available to all SAI Fellow members. Upcoming webinars are listed on the ‘Events’ section of the SAI website. A recording is available for all past webinars, email events@actuaries.ie for the links to any past webinars.

  • To access the Podcasts:

This benefit is available to all SAI Fellow members.

This benefit is available to all SAI Fellow members.

The IMI produces a range of research insights documents on a range of topics that can help SAI members stay up-to-date on cutting edge topics and trends. These documents can be accessed here: http://www.imi.ie/insights

The IMI also produces summary/insights documents for most of their membership events. If you are  interested in receiving this document please email events@actuaries.ie after the event has passed to receive a copy.

Can all SAI members attend an IMI event?

No, access to IMI events is limited to Fellow members of the SAI.

As part of our membership there is a limited number of complimentary tickets available to the SAI for each IMI event. These complimentary tickets are allocated to Fellow members of the SAI in the order in which their reservations for the relevant event are received. Fellow members may also avail of a 50% discount on ticket prices (subject to availability).

How do I sign up for the Knowledge Centre?

To access the Knowledge Centre members must first register for an account via this link: http://library.imi.ie/register-for-access. Please remember to enter the SAI as your employer when registering, otherwise your account will not be approved.

Will attending IMI events count towards SAI CPD?

Yes, members can use attendance at IMI CPD events towards fulfilling their SAI CPD requirements. If the topics covered in the talks are relevant to your role, then attendance can be counted towards member’s ‘Relevant CPD’ requirements.

What other companies/organisations attend IMI events?

A broad spectrum of private, public, national and international organisations attend IMI events. Some examples include: Central Bank of Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Engineers’ Ireland, FAI, Irish Rugby Union Players Union (IRUPA), Microsoft and Kerry Group. Members of the SAI who work (or who may potentially work) in the wider fields may find the broad range of attendees from different industries useful for networking opportunities.
