The Society’s ERM Committee is delighted to announce the next meeting of the CRO Circle will be an in-person meeting, held in the Leinster Hotel, Mount Street Lower, Dublin 2.  The meeting will run from 4pm-5.30pm approx. on Wednesday, 9th October 2024.  It is a great opportunity to meet with others in the CRO network.  There will be tea/coffee beforehand (from 3.30pm, for meeting start at 4pm) and afterwards we invite all attending to stay on to meet with others, and the Society will cover attendees’ first drink.

In order to attend this meeting, you must be a SAI member and be appointed to the CRO role (PCF14), or expect to take on this role in the near future.

The topics being covered at the forum, which as a practitioner forum will be largely discussion-based, will be:

  • Digital Operational Resilience Act (‘DORA’) – with the impending 17 January 2025 implementation deadline, we will discuss questions relating to the role of, and impact on, Risk Functions.
  • Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (‘CSRD’) and Climate Change Materiality Assessments – with upcoming reporting requirements and ongoing assessments, we will discuss questions relating to these.

The CRO Circle was established by the Society’s ERM Committee to create a forum for Chief Risk Officers to discuss and share knowledge of common interest in a supportive and confidential environment. The Circle aims to be an open, informal and discursive forum, organised on a “round table” basis. The Circle’s terms of reference are available here. Any members of the Society currently filling a PCF14 role in an insurer/reinsurer are welcome to attend the Circle meetings.
