Dermot Marron, Head of Actuarial at Allied Risk Management Limited
Qualified in 2001, Dermot holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the Queen’s University of Belfast. He has held a number of senior positions in the insurance/reinsurance industry prior to joining the Central Bank of Ireland in 2009. After an enjoyable 3½ years on Central Bank of Ireland’s non-life insurance supervision team, including 3 years as Ireland’s representative on EIOPA’s Solvency II Internal Model Committee, Dermot left the Central Bank of Ireland to establish a non-life actuarial consultancy with Allied Risk Management. Dermot is a member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and previously was a member of the Society’s General Insurance Committee and chaired the Society’s COVID-19 Public Interest Working Group.

Ryan Mullan, Actuary at Allied Risk Management Limited
Ryan graduated with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). After a brief stint in life insurance, he joined Allied Risk in October 2020. Ryan is a qualified actuary, having passed his last exam in December 2022 and is currently awaiting awaiting fellowship status.
