This discussion will pose ethical questions in relation to data analytics. It will look at the legal frameworks governing this area, sources of bias, common mistakes and best practices. It will also highlight a number of real world cases where data analytics got it wrong and right.

Dermot Marron heads up Allied Risk’s actuarial department with a diverse range of clients including insurance and reinsurance companies, captives and MGAs. He is a member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and previously spent 3 years on EIOPA’s Solvency II Internal Model Committee.
