SAI AGM followed by the presentation: FIRE the Actuary!

The Society’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday 13th June, 2018 at 6.00pm, in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Street Lower, Dublin 2.  The following papers are now posted to the website here.

Presentation following the AGM

Immediately following the AGM, Roma Burke, FSAI, will present ‘FIRE the Actuary!’ which looks at the online Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) movement that has evolved since c. 2011, the rise of the pseudo cult of Mustashianism and the rockstar-like status of a small group of financial bloggers who are commanding the attention of millions of people seeking financial independence.

Biographical details

Roma Burke is the Chairperson of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland Pensions Committee and Council Member.

She is a member of the Pensions Council and a consulting actuary.
