Innovative Governance and Sustainable Pathways in a Disruptive Environment

This event is now fully booked.

An environment increasingly characterised by disruption fuelled by rapid technological, digital and social developments poses significant challenges to the governance and sustainability of many professions and organisations. The consumption and production of goods and services are increasingly shaped by mobile, cloud and other internet technologies, big data analytics and blockchain structures. These trends are creating new opportunities, as well as risks. Given this unprecedented disruptive environment, organisations need to find ways to foster innovative governance and find sustainable solutions in the face of disruption. Political volatility, supply chain insecurity, global climate change, energy consumption trends and stakeholder activism continue to be leading critical factors, necessitating greater environmental and social accountability. This presentation will discuss some of the complex governance issues entailed in responding to these challenges.

As announced at the Society’s Annual Convention in May, Professor Niamh Brennan has been elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.

The President, Maurice Whyms, will formally confer her with Honorary Fellowship following her presentation to members on 17th October. The evening will conclude with dinner in the hotel.
