What role can institutional capital play in addressing the Irish residential property shortfall?
Irish institutional investors have historically been reluctant to enter the residential property market, unlike investors in other countries. Following the banking crisis, a number of institutional investors have entered the market, seeking short-term gains on distressed asset and in other cases, attractive long-term yields driven by the current supply shortfall and favourable demographics.
In this lunch time meeting, two such investors, specialising in the private residential letting sector and student accommodation, will discuss the challenges of investing in the residential market and address the issues that have historically prevented wider institutional participation.
