Brian Buggy is a partner and a member of the Employment Pensions and Benefits Group of Matheson. He heads the firm’s pensions and benefits practice. He has extensive experience in many areas of pensions and employee benefits law. Brian is a member and a former Chairman of the Association of Pension Lawyers in Ireland. He is a representative member of the Irish Association of Pension Funds (IAPF) and he is also a member of the Council of the IAPF. He is a member of the International Pension and Employee Benefit Lawyers Association (IPEBLA) and is a former member of the IPEBLA Steering Committee. He is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers (UK). Brian is a former member of the Irish Pensions Board (2000-2005) on which he represented the legal profession. He is joint author of the textbook: Irish Pensions Law & Practice, 2 Ed (2006).
Stephen Lalor has worked in pension consulting for over 30 years, advising employers, trustees and pension scheme members, and has written and lectured extensively on various aspects of pensions and employee benefits. A graduate of University College Dublin, he is a Barrister at Law, a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management and a Qualified Financial Adviser, and holds a Masters degree in business and management. He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers in Ireland and the International Employee Benefits Association, and an affiliate member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. Currently, Stephen lectures on the IIPM Diploma in Pensions Management & Policy in National College of Ireland and on the IIPM Law & Governance Programme for Trustees.
