SAI AGM followed by an evening meeting on "Challenges of the low interest rate environment"

The Society's Annual General Meeting will take place at 6pm.  This will be followed by an evening meeting at which Dermot Corry will address how insurance companies in Europe are dealing with the challenges caused by the current low interest rate environment.  This will include challenges to solvency and product development.  He will also examine some implications for Solvency II.  Joseph O'Dea will add his thoughts on macro consistency of funding and solvency requirements and on fairness, in an insurance and pensions context, in sharing out limited quantities of financial certainty.
