Dealing with the Human Risk Factor in the Regulatory Environment

In the Financial Services Sector, the evolving regulatory environment has further increased the requirement to evidence robust selection of people to ‘Significant Influence Functions’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010.  Increased need for accountability among those making appointments is creating new challenges and solutions for those involved in managing the Human Risk factor.

In this event Terry and Sharon will be discussing the approach they have developed for banking and financial services to manage the risk in senior appointment decision making and how to ensure selection

  • Enable the organisation to manage the risk when making key senior executive appointments; how organisations can make confident appointment decisions about the leadership capability of people being considered for senior leadership roles including their propensity and capability to take the lead on corporate risk management.
  •  Demonstrate a robust selection process that is in line with the FCA (UK) and Central Bank (ROI) Approved Person’s appointments; how organisations can design a selection and assessment approach that will demonstrate that the organisation has followed a rigorous selection approach in line with these standards.

The discussion will be facilitated by Terry Denny and Sharon Douglas. Terry and Sharon have more than 40 years, experience in talent strategy and assessment as well as general business management. They have wide experience of working with clients to identify senior leadership capability and potential, whether this is for selection, individual development or to enable the organisation to build a thorough understanding of the potential within pools of staff for succession planning. They also have successfully used this process across a wide range of organisations including the financial services sector and regulatory environment.
