The Irish economy: Charting the course to Irish economic and financial stability

Eamonn Hughes is co-author of a research report on "The Irish economy: Charting the course to Irish economic and financial stability". The report was jointly prepared and issued recently by Davy, Goodbody Stockbrokers and NCB.  The authors call for a collective and cohesive response to the challenging issues facing the Irish economy and Irish society.  They break down the challenges into four distinct areas - the public finances, the economy, the sovereign debt markets and the banking system.  They emphasise that clear and focused action on public finances and the banking system is required, and competitiveness must be restored.  They believe that charting a return to economic growth will be difficult but achievable, and they set out proposals in that regard.

All members are encouraged to attend this very topical presentation.  The subject matter discussed will provide useful background informatoin for a discussion of the Society's strategic priorities at our Annual Convention on 21st May.

N. B.  The QFA Board has awarded CPD hours for this meeting as follows  -  1.5 hours Formal CPD for QFAs, for CPD Members of LIA, for CPD Members (including Registered Stockbrokers) of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and for LCOIs.
