The SAI General Insurance Committee is currently in the planning stages for the 2025 GI Seminar and future GI CPD events and is inviting expressions of interest from members and non-members who would like to deliver a session.
This event is being held in the Shelbourne Hotel on Wednesday, 11th June 2025.
Expressions of interest:
Please provide a short outline of your proposal:
- Topic and format of session (e.g., presentation followed by Q&A, Panel Discussion etc.);
- If the speakers are decided: the employer and contact details for each speaker; and
- Whether the session has been (or will/might be) delivered elsewhere and if so, where and when.
Some suggested topics might include but are not limited to:
- Market & Economic Trends – Insurance market developments, inflation, Global market outlook, international trade
- Technology in insurance (for example data science, AI, machine learning, coding)
- Emerging and evolving risks (for example ESG, climate change, geopolitics, cyber, digital currency, driverless cars)
- Regulatory environment (for example regulator views, Solvency II reform, IFRS17, Personal injury Guidelines)
- Pricing, Reserving or Capital modelling in personal or commercial lines insurance
- Non-traditional roles (for example risk, exposure management, Insurtech)
- Actuaries in the workplace (for example communication, professionalism, DEI, agile, professional excellence, peer review)
- Any other ideas you have
The proposed length is around 40mins including approximately 10mins for questions.

We will contact you once all submissions have been reviewed to let you know if your proposal has been accepted onto the 2025 agenda.
