Successful Implementation of Enterprise Risk Management in State Transportation Agencies

Submitted on 7th September 2017

The primary objectives of this project are to identify, analyse, and describe successful ERM application and practice by highway agencies, and to document best practices to improve and implement ERM at State DOTs. The results of this research are intended to serve as reference for other DOTs as they develop and implement ERM programs to fit their agency’s risk management needs and meet the requirements set forth by the MAP-21 mandate. The report is written in a concise format to illustrate the findings of the research with examples to inform and educate the readers on ERM, while also supporting the business case for implementing ERM.
