Society awards Honorary Fellowship to Mary Robinson

The Society of Actuaries in Ireland has announced that it awarded Honorary Fellowship to Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland 1990-97.

SAI President, Sheelagh Malin, said ‘Mrs Robinson has a long and distinguished track record of public service in Ireland and elsewhere.  She is a prominent and highly regarded figure internationally who has made a huge contribution to human rights and world peace, always highlighting the concerns of ordinary people.  An area that is of significant relevance and importance to the actuarial profession is her tireless campaigning on climate change and sustainability.’
