Webinar: Triangulator – An Introduction to Open Source Software for the Lay Actuary
This session introduces open source software in an actuarial context. It covers key concepts, benefits and challenges, examples of existing project (Triangulator), and essential GitHub terminology.
The goal is to encourage actuaries in the Irish market to actively contribute to the development of open source actuarial tools tailored for local needs.
The upcoming speakers both work for Beazley, a specialist general insurer with a strong focus on cyber insurance. Beazley has a significant presence in the Lloyd’s of London market, as well as in North America and Europe.
Mark Sheridan has 9 years of experience in the General Insurance sector in Ireland, with a strong focus on technical insurance risk areas such as capital modelling and reserve reviews. He currently serves as the interim Chief Risk Officer for a Beazley intermediary in Ireland and as a Risk Manager for Beazley’s European platform. Mark also brings extensive experience in R programming.
Eoin Killarney is a trainee actuary at Beazley. He studied Actuarial & Financial Maths in UCD and is currently working through the professional examinations. Within work he performs a wide range of roles covering regulatory reporting, pricing MI, and syndicate quarterly reserving.
