We are currently taking registrations for the Certificate in Foundations of Artificial Intelligence run by the training providers Krisolis and accredited by Technological University Dublin (TUD). This course is open to Society members only and has been tailored to take account of our members’ technical background. The course will commence with induction on 30th September 2025 and will run online over 12 weeks (with approximately 5 hours of tuition over two evenings) each week. A detailed timetable is provided below.
At the end of this course it is expected that participants will have established a foundation in artificial intelligence demonstrated by being able to:
- Describe what Artificial Intelligence is and outline the component parts of the domain.
- Explain the importance and considerations of ethics and social justice in designing and developing Artificial Intelligence solutions.
- Design and validate use cases for applying Artificial Intelligence to create effective solutions.
- Curate, organise and analyse data for Artificial Intelligence projects.
- Research and document findings about Artificial Intelligence developments.
- Complete a Capstone Project that encapsulates learning from the content covered on the certificate programme. The Capstone project will be an AI or data project that is linked to a practical industry application.
Below you will find a document outlining the rationale for the Society choosing to promote this course. A further document from Krisolis provides information on the trainers, assessment process etc. Please note in particular the Key Information below.
To reserve a place on the course, please book through this event page. Note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis. Once we have 30 registrations we will commence a waiting list. In order to keep their place, registered members must complete the application process (including payment) by 30th August. In addition, we would ask members who register but subsequently decide not to proceed, to let us know as soon as they can to allow us to offer the place to the next in line. Full details of the application process will be provided in due course.
