Music Night
Despite the freezing weather, and a slightly noisy pub, our first Actuarial Music Night in January was a (tunefully) roaring success. Renditions on the night came from all genres including jazz, punk, pop, trad and country.
We’ve decided that there’s the making of an Actuarial Music Club out of this and we’ll likely meet three or four times a year. Who knows what will come of it? Viviana Pascoletti has kindly volunteered to co-ordinate the club.
Our next night is on the 18th June in the Marble Bar (just for us) upstairs in Doheny & Nesbitt’s kicking off at 7:30. As was the case for the night in January, the only requirements for participation are that either
- you have something you’d like to sing or play, or
- you’re prepared to undiscerningly cheer or clap on someone else who sings or plays.
Please let us know in the remarks as well if you’d like to join the Club (same criteria apply!). Membership of the club simply means that you’ll be included in a mailing group where people can throw around suggestions for the upcoming nights, and can request the musicians among us to learn a particular song, or perhaps reach out to arrange a collaboration (so by joining you’re giving your consent for your email to be shared with the group).
