In-person: ERM Forum
Join us for the ERM Forum on Tuesday, 11th February in the CA House from 3.45pm. The format of the ERM Forum will be two 1-hour sessions, see details below:
1 . Emerging Risk – Presenter Stuart Redmond
Emerging risks continue to be topical given the current turbulent environment. Recent events have served to further highlight certain emerging risks (e.g. geopolitical, AI and cyber risks) and the potential impact they might have on insurers. A Working Group from the SAI’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee has created an inventory of emerging risks that will be a useful reference for actuaries working in risk management or those interested in this topic more generally. In this presentation, the Chair of the Working Group will:
- Provide an overview of the process followed to create the emerging risk inventory;
- Summarise the content of the inventory through looking at key emerging risk trends and covering selected risks in more detail;
- Seek feedback from attendees on potential new emerging risks to add to the inventory through breakout groups;
- Provide some thoughts on the monitoring, management and communication of emerging risks.
2. AI Risk Management – Are Actuaries Fit to be CROs of the Future? – Presenter Gary Stakem and members of the AI Risk Working Group
Following an introduction to reflect on the skillset of the traditional actuarial CRO and the gaps compared to the skills a (re)insurance CRO might need in five years time, and initial presentation on some key themes related to AI risk management. This will be an interactive session, where breakout groups will discuss how actuarial skills may be used, or may need development to future proof actuaries as CROs of the future.
