EAA Web Session: Generative AI Crash Course for Actuaries
Announcement from the EAA organiser:
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been revolutionizing various industries, and the actuarial field is no exception. Generative AI, in particular, has the potential to transform the way actuaries work by enabling them to generate new data, models, and insights. With the advancement of Generative AI techniques, actuaries now have access to powerful tools that can enhance their predictive modeling capabilities, automate repetitive tasks, improve data quality, and improve the accuracy of risk assessments. Through this course, actuaries will learn about the fundamental concepts of generative models, including Transformers, Variational Autoencoders, Generative Adversarial Networks, Large Language Models, and Diffusion Models. They will also explore real-world applications of these models in the actuarial field, such as knowledge base Q&A, modelling coding assistance, data augmentation through synthetic data or feature engineering, fraud detection & object detection, and named entity recognition.
