EAA Web Session: ESG-Washing Risk Management
Announcement from the EAA organiser:
Scrutiny of claims on sustainability topics by media, business partners, clients and regulators has been increased, leading to the concept of ESG-washing risk, identifying the negative impact of misleading claims, not limited to claims on climate matters.
In this context, likelihood of facing reputational, financial and emerging litigation risks for ESG-washing is increasing and with new regulations being implemented, ESG-washing will evolve into regulatory risk as well. Insurers are therefore reconsidering the way they report their sustainable initiatives and achievements to be protected against “ESG-washing” allegations.
