SAI President’s Conference 2024 "Connection and Engagement"

We are delighted to announce details of the Society’s 2024 President’s Conference, which will be on Thursday 25th April, in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road.

Having just launched our Strategic Aspirations for the actuarial profession in Ireland and where Connection and Engagement is at the heart of the strategy and fundamental to our future success, we are going to focus this year’s conference on these themes.

The format for the event will be as follows:

• Starting with connecting with our origins, we will launch the book “1972-2022 Collective Memories”.  Thank you to Aisling Kennedy, Tony Jeffery and Gareth Colgan for taking the editorial lead on the book.  Aisling and Gareth will take us on a brief tour of their highlights (and as they say, there’ll be a copy for everyone in the audience!).
• We will then cast our view forward to connect with the future. SAI President, Bríd Quigley will host a panel discussion with newer members of the profession (Daniel McAleese, Noman Zafar and Cliodhna Breen) where they will discuss their views on the future.
• To conclude the formal element of the evening, and to connect the past and the future together, our new Chief Executive Brian Grimes will give an overview of our plans and early initiatives towards our Strategic Aspirations.

 After that we will move to the more “social” part of the event with a drinks reception to celebrate the past, toast the future and take the chance to renew old and make new connections.  

We hope that you can join us, the Society’s Officers and Council members and your fellow members for what we expect will be a really interesting and hopefully fun evening.
