The Society’s ERM Committee is delighted to announce the next meeting of the CRO Circle will be an in-person meeting, held in The Fitzwilliam Hotel, from 3.30pm on Wednesday, 6th March 2024.  It is a great opportunity to meet with others in the CRO network.  There will be tea/coffee beforehand (from 3.30pm, for meeting start at 4pm) and afterwards we invite all attending to stay on to meet with others, and the Society will cover attendees’ first drink.

In order to attend this meeting, you must be a SAI member and be appointed to the CRO role (PCF14), or expect to take on this role in the near future.

The topics being covered at the forum will be:

  • INED perspectives – We are delighted to be joined for this session by Sean Casey. Bio: 40 years in financial services, primarily in Appointed Actuary, CFO and CEO roles.  Currently Chair of Risk, Chair of Audit and Board Chair of companies in the insurance sector.
  • Artificial Intelligence and impact on Risk functions - discussion (pre-event survey will issue)
The CRO Circle was established by the Society’s ERM Committee to create a forum for Chief Risk Officers to discuss and share knowledge of common interest in a supportive and confidential environment. The Circle aims to be an open, informal and discursive forum, organised on a “round table” basis. The Circle’s terms of reference are available here. Any members of the Society currently filling a PCF14 role in an insurer/reinsurer are welcome to attend the Circle meetings.
