On retirement as Defence Chief after over forty years’ service, Adm Mellett launched Green Compass advising on the complexities of today’s strategic environment. He was distinguished top graduate of each of his senior command and staff courses at the US Naval War College, Irish Military College and the Royal Naval College and holds a PhD in Ecosystem Governance and a Masters in Government and Public Policy.
