This event is now available to view on:

This webinar is aimed at employers/managers and students.

This event will be run as a live webinar using Zoom. Click here for information on using Zoom.

Since March 2020 we have all adapted to a remote working environment, whilst dealing with the other challenges of the pandemic – childcare, caring for elderly relatives, unsuitable conditions for home-working. This has been a challenge for all.

As the vaccines are rolled out and offices begin to re-open, many companies will be returning to a hybrid working environment, with a mix of office-based and remote working.

The purpose of this session will be to share experiences ideas and raise awareness of the particular needs of students in the remote working environment. The session is aimed at both students and their employers/managers.

Maura Holton of PwC’s HR department will share her experiences of the challenge of managing an influx of over 100 accounting trainees in the middle of the pandemic – what went well, what went not so well, what they learned from the experience and what they would do differently.

Ciara Izuchukwu of Hannover Re will share her experiences as a student in the pandemic.

Caroline Twomey of Deloitte will give the actuarial employer’s perspective.

NB: As a security measure, there is a two-step registration process before you receive the link to join any webinar or meeting.  The first step is to register your interest in attending the webinar/meeting by making a reservation for an event via the Society’s website.  You will receive a link to then register via the Zoom platform.  It is after this second registration step that you will receive the link to join the webinar or meeting.
