Biographical details

Geraldine Finucane is a Senior Manager in the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), which is part of the Bank of England. She leads a team within the General Insurance Risk Specialists department, providing technical and actuarial input into the supervision of UK General Insurance firms. Geraldine has been at the PRA for seven years and has worked on both London market and domestic firms across areas such as capital, reserving, underwriting, governance and risk management. She is particularly active in the General Insurance Actuarial Function specialism, including involvement in thematic reviews of reports, communications to firms and the annual Chief Actuary Forums held by the PRA.

Before working at the PRA, Geraldine spent two years at the Central Bank of Ireland, where she worked on the supervision of general insurance firms with a particular focus on reviewing internal models in the build up to Solvency II implementation

Gerard is a senior manager in Deloitte’s actuarial, rewards and analytics team. He was part of the SAI’s Working Party on the EIOPA Solvency II 2020 review, providing feedback to the proposals from a non-life perspective. Gerard has experience in the provision of Head of Actuarial Function opinions, risk management support, Solvency II SCR calculation and review, providing specialist internal and external audit support to insurance companies, reserve valuation and Solvency II Technical Provision valuation.
