Storytelling with Data Analytics

With the increasing importance of data analytics in businesses comes the need to convey accurate and actionable insights to a non-technical audience. Data storytelling has become one of the most important skills for the success of data analytics projects in all industries. Naoimi will step through the process of developing a story using a dataset. The story will be designed based on best practices, developing knowledge and communicating them into usable insights.

Biographical details

Naoimi Gillis works as a data scientist telling stories with data using various appropriate visualization techniques depending on the audience. She has worked in a variety of fields from Manufacturing to banking and is currently working in American Healthcare. She has an undergraduate in Theoretical Physics, a post graduate in Data Analytics and a certificate in Visual Art Practice. The overarching goal of her work is to connect the technical details to visual techniques so that the insights observed in the data are clearly and effectively communicated and most importantly understood and actioned. Naoimi previously set up and ran Dublin Data Visualisation.
