Blockchain - What's It all About?

Blockchain is a digital ledger/record-keeping technology underlying many new software solutions in the insurance industry.

This talk aims to educate actuaries on the benefits and limitations of using this new technology.

 

Biographical details

Amy Pugh:

As a project and business development senior manager within the EMEA Blockchain Lab, Amy is responsible for leading Blockchain solution projects, proposition design and use case validation engagements for clients across all industry sectors.

Amy works with Deloitte’s global Blockchain community and clients to build assets and solutions that can solve complex commercial problems and transform the way our clients do business and create value.

 

Damien Scanlon:

Damien is a manager in Deloitte’s EMEA Blockchain Lab. He enables clients to break down problems and think creatively to design strategies that deliver sustainable corporate improvements using industry-leading methodologies. Damien has significant experience in digital strategy, target operating model design and organisational transformation through his work with retail, agribusiness, FMCG and financial services clients. As the product owner for Deloitte’s Blockchain-Powered Supply Chain client solutions, Damien leads the design and development of these solutions on behalf of the firm across EMEA.

Damien’s critical areas of expertise include Strategy Design, Transparent Supply Chains, Sustainable Sourcing, Customs Clearance, Corporate Risk Management, Change Management and Service Delivery.
