Directors' Interest Group Meeting
This event is open to Fellows or Associates who are currently, or in the recent past have been, Executive or Non-Executive Directors of financial institutions, and to actuaries who aspire to become INEDs in financial institutions. We have a registered list of people who fall into one of these categories and are interested in attending events.
Our next meeting will include contributions from three eminent actuaries who have engaged in an executive or director capacity in organisations which operate outside traditional actuarial fields. Our intent is to generate an interest in and awareness of the opportunities which could exist for actuaries in such areas. This is aligned with our aims, one of which is “to create an awareness, within and outside the profession, of the attributes which actuaries can bring to Boards, both for financial institutions and potentially for a wider set of companies.”
Our three speakers for this event are Brid Horan, Paul O’Faherty and Pat Ryan, who will address the opportunities for us to stretch the actuarial boundaries in work as directors, as well as the challenges which face us in grasping the opportunities and features of the profession and its members which can make us suited to wider Board roles.
The members of the Leadership Team for the Group look forward to welcoming you on 24th April. We will also have the opportunity to network over drinks after the event.
This event is free of charge to SAI Members.
