Directors' Interest Group Event
This event is open to Fellows or Associates who are currently, or in the recent past have been, Executive or Non-Executive Directors of financial institutions, and to actuaries who aspire to become INEDs in financial institutions. We have a registered list of people who fall into one of these categories and are interested in attending events.
Event details:
Evelyn Bourke, Chief Financial Officer of BUPA and a pioneer among Irish actuaries, will be our guest for the event. Evelyn has had a successful and varied career, starting in Lifetime in Dublin and progressing through actuarial consultancy to leading strategic and finance roles with Chase deVere, Standard Life, Friends Life and now BUPA. As well as her current role with BUPA, Evelyn is an Independent Non-Executive Director of IFG plc and serves on the Prince of Wales CFO network. Evelyn will share a number of insights from her career with us, potentially covering areas such as:
• the regulatory atmosphere in UK and differences in practices relative to Ireland
• Group Board expectations of subsidiary Boards
• IPO experience
• Managing risk, including operating risk, across borders
As usual, we hope also that attendees will take some time to share thoughts over a drink afterwards. Please let Catherine know if you can attend this event (catherine.mcbride@actuaries.ie)
We would also be delighted if you are available to stay for dinner. We have booked a table in the Conrad’s restaurant, but we need to confirm numbers shortly. So, when confirming to Catherine if you are available for the meeting, please also let her know if you are available to stay for dinner. The cost of dinner will be €50.
The members of the Leadership Team for the Group look forward to welcoming you on 14 January.
