Inherent instability: Observations on the banking business model, risk appetite and regulation.

Our guest speaker Fiona Muldoon will lead an honest and frank discussion around the Banking business model, risk appetite and regulation.
Banks are faced with the challenge of balancing the natural tension between growth and risk objectives. Does the banks business model (guiding principles, core values and business priorities) align with the banks formal articulation of its willingness to accept risk? Are Bank Boards and Executive Committees endeavouring to define a long-lasting risk culture, or are they merely treading water before the next opportunity? Have lessons been learned or is history about to repeat itself as banks contemplate future risk taking activities beyond its risk appetite and regulators expectations?

We hope that Fiona as a former regulator and with practical knowledge of the private sector will share her unique insight into these and other questions on the night.
