Seminar on Fiduciary Management

The Association of Pension Lawyers in Ireland (APLI) has invited members of the Society to a talk on legal issues arising from fiduciary management or 'implemented consulting'.  The talk will take place in the O'Callaghan Alexander Hotel, Dublin 2, on Thursday 12th June at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, finishing at approximately 7.45pm.  The following individuals will deliver presentations:

  • Michael Lernihan, Head of Fiduciary Management in Mercer Ireland;
  • Scott Zoltowski, Global Chief Counsel for Mercer Investments; and
  • Matthew Mignault, Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's Advisory Services Department.

The event is open to members of the APLI, the Society and the Association of Pensioneer Trustees of Ireland (APTI).  Attendees will first be given an introduction to what fiduciary management entails, before the speakers outline how it can be used by trustees and sponsoring employers to deal with the challenges facing pension plans in Ireland today.  The talk will then focus on some of the legal aspects of adopting a fiduciary management approach, both in Ireland and globally.  Finally, there will be a discussion about the trends in this area in Ireland and the UK.
