SAI Professionalism Course
The UK Actuarial Profession has recently introduced a number of changes to its professionalism training framework. In order to facilitate SAI students who need to fulfil these requirements, the Society will host a Professionalism Course on 12th September 2012.
Under the new UK Actuarial Profession requirements, certain Student members may be required to attend a Professional Skills Course organised by the Actuarial Profession prior to completing the actuarial exams. From the Actuarial Profession’s website (see http://www.actuaries.org.uk/members/pages/just-qualified - see also FAQs at http://www.actuaries.org.uk/research-and-resources/documents/profession…):
“attendance at [a Professional Skills Course] is required within one year of qualification or between the fourth and sixth anniversary of a member’s admission to the Profession, whichever comes first.
Initially, members admitted to the Profession on or after 1 July 2006 who:
- have not qualified as a Fellow by 1 July 2011; or
- have not transferred to the category of Associate by 1 July 2011; or
- have qualified as a Fellow by 1 July 2011 but who do not attend the current two day New Fellows Professionalism Course by the end of December 2011,will be required to undertake the new Professional Skills Course.”
Attendance at the Society’s non-residential Professionalism Course on 12th Sept 2012 will fulfil these requirements.
If you would like to attend this Course, please contact the Society on 634 0020 or email info@actuaries.ie
