Join us for a panel event to celebrate International Women’s Day, 2024. Panellists will be discussing the importance of inclusion, sharing their past experiences and professional journeys to showcase how inclusion impacts workplace environment; and discuss what actions we can all take to inspire inclusion. The attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from the panellists throughout the event.  

This will be a panel discussion comprising of:

  • Emma O’Mahony, Member of the SAI Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion (DEAI) Committee, and Pension Risk Manager, NTMA,

Biographical details

 

Brian Grimes – Chief Executive, Society of Actuaries Ireland

Brian has over 30 years of experience working in both the domestic and cross-border life assurance market. He has held leadership roles in core actuarial functions such as pricing and reserving and wider fields such as marketing and distribution.  He is a co-creator of the LIA and IoB’s masters level courses in Financial Planning.  Brian has recently taken on the role of Chief Executive of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.

Emma O’Mahony – Pension Scheme Risk Manager, National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA).

Emma comes from a background of nearly two decades of pension scheme actuarial and consultancy work, before moving in-house to the NTMA two years ago. Becoming a mother to two kids triggered her keen interest in Inclusion & Diversity, resulting in her joining the SAI Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) Committee. She recently received a professional diploma in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging with the UCD Professional Academy.

Linda O’Sullivan – Head of Social Inclusion, Business in the Community Ireland

Linda O’Sullivan  is Head of Social Inclusion at Business in the Community Ireland where she leads the agenda on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working with major employers through Elevate: The Inclusive Workplace Pledge as well as delivering social impact through our portfolio of employment programmes supporting diverse jobseekers overcome barriers to employment. Linda has a comprehensive background in sustainability and social impact having designed and delivered a range of strategic initiatives focused on responsible and sustainable business. Linda has an Honours Degree in Applied Mathematical Sciences from Dublin City University and an MBA from Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin.

Niamh Gaudin – CRO, AXA

Niamh is a qualified actuary with experience in pensions, regulation, pricing, reserving and risk management. Niamh has been involved in the Gender Pipeline sub-committee of the Society for a number of years and feels passionately about this topic particularly having a young family.
